This course is for you!

The course provides a thorough overview of the principles of wound healing – from the different phases of the healing process to how you can facilitate the best possible outcome, both in open and closed wound management.

You’ll also gain a solid introduction to the use of modern wound ointments, dressing materials, and newer techniques that can promote faster and more optimal healing.

The course consists of 4 lectures, the first 3 covering the basics of wound classification and management, and the 4th is a case series of challenging wounds where we take what we have learned to practice.

Part 1: Wound classification
This section provides an overview of how different types of wounds are classified based on cause, degree of contamination, and tissue damage. You will learn how proper classification forms the basis for subsequent treatment choices and prognosis.

This section covers modern products and methods that support wound healing. You’ll learn how different ointments, dressing materials, and advanced techniques can be used to tailor the treatment to each individual wound.

Part 4: Case examples – application of the principles from lectures 1–3
Through specific patient cases, you will see how the principles from the previous sections are applied in practice. This part illustrates the choice of strategy, products, and follow-up for different types of wounds.
